Courtesy is not Dead

Friday I went to dinner with a fellow teacher after a long day at school. When we walked into the pizza joint for dinner two of the young men working recognized me as a teacher and greeted me as I stepped up to the counter. I was not certain what size or kind of pizza we wanted when I first stepped up to the counter. One of the young men said we remember when you bought is lunch when we were in high school so I would like to buy you dinner tonight. So our meal of a large pizza and drinks was free for us.

What a blessing these young men where to us. Not only did one of them pay for our meal but when it was ready they brought out to our table, refilled our drinks and checked on us several times to make sure every thing was okay.

Since the night was to turn very dark for me when I arrived home, it was nice to hold onto the fact that there are some kind young people in the world.
