A Twilight fan was struck by a car and killed today while trying to cross Harbor Drive. The 53 year old woman had been with a group of Twilight fans camping outside of Hall H since Sunday. They were waiting for a chance to see the cast of the final installment of the "Twilight" sagas.
She was crossing Harbor Drive against the light today and tried to stop due to oncoming traffic when she tripped and fell. She was clipped by a passing car that had the right of way. The 67-year-old driver who hit her cooperated with investigators and will not be cited.
Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment, the film's distributors, released
the following statement late Tuesday: "Lionsgate, Summit and the entire
`Twilight' community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today
due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year's
convention in San Diego. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the
victim's family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this
Thursday in Hall H."
